Comparing uPVC Bead with metal Bead
Although metal Beads are in common use, plastic have some significant advantages:
uPVC impact resistance is better, preventing render or plaster from cracking at the edges (also eliminating site and van damage that metal can occur)
plastic has the flexibility to shape smoother curves and arches, without losing durability
PVC Beads are easy to cut, leaving no sharp edges for safer handling
plastic will not corrode, completely avoiding rust stains. Particularly useful for external and slow drying render, in any location including salty and high moisture environments
metal conducts heat so is a potential thermal bridge, whereas plastic provides a thermal break
uPVC is strong enough for use with sand and cement, able to hold shape for clean continuous lines

External Wall Insulation Reveal Bead (APU Bead) with 100mm mesh backing for creating an expanding connection up to window and door frames. Fixing pins for any mesh backed Beads.
